Being very much in favour of rewilding, especially within remote regions like parts of Scotland, I joined the group and for a time was able to get some views across. However, directly after this debate on wind-energy came up, I was blocked from their site and certain postings had been removed. It seems anyone who speaks out against wind-energy in any meaningful way is then excluded from further discussions.
​
This precisely illustrates how infiltration within a group of around 4.8k like-minded members is so dangerous. All it needs is for someone with interests in the wind-energy sector to have access to the admin then anyone who is perceived as some kind of free-thinker can be removed from taking part. By excluding these targetted thoughts they are then able to steer any arguments and bring about substantially different outcomes to what otherwise would have been.

Having predators like wolves or bears and prey in the same enclosure would introduce animal welfare issues, and human-management of protected species requires special consent from the European Commission. This would need careful consideration as re-introduced grey wolves would have no natural predator in Scotland.
This line about Wolves having no natural predators in Scotland - Wolves being an apex preditor in their own right would quite rightfully have no natural predators. This is what being an apex preditor means - there are no predators above them.

*** One of the greatest threats is the international trade in wild plants of which the main groups are Orchids, Cacti, Aloes, Insectivorous Plants, Medical Plants and various Bulbs and Tubers. The trade is vast and includes species like Ginseng, Venus Flytraps, Pitcher Plants and Cacti collected from all over N. America, Narcissi from Portugal and Spain, Snowdrops and Cyclamen from Turkey and Tulips from Afghanistan etc. They are often dug up on a free-for-all basis by peasant farmers who have only a vague idea of what it is they are uprooting causing all kinds of damage to wild sites. Orchids are perhaps the most heavily sought-after often by unscrupulous professionals who focus in on and smuggle rare plants to order.
It is an extremely serious problem which could so often be helped by cultivation, rather than collecting them directly from the wild, with other species of course requiring full prohibition within fully protected sites.
